29 November 2019

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s been another busy week in school. On Monday, Year 2 had a wonderful day out at St Paul’s Cathedral, marvelling at the architecture and the beauty of the place. Across the school, children are learning songs and scripts for our Christmas shows and our sporting calendar seems very full with hockey and cross-country competitions taking place, even in the dark! Well done to all those who played!

I’m looking forward to the first of our school Christmas events tonight! It’ll be great to enjoy the Christmas fair together at the junior school. Thank you so much to the HTSC committee for getting it all ready, and thank you as well for your generous donations – it’s sure to be a great event! Can I ask you to please take responsibility for your children during the evening – it’s not safe for children to wander outside or play in the dark.

Then, next week, we’ll be marking the start of Advent. As well as plenty of celebrations and fun, we also use this season to remind one another of how to bring light and happiness into the world. Each class will again be working together to make a Christmas hamper to support the work of Besom. This Guildford-based charity supports many disadvantaged local families throughout the year. At Christmas, they deliver hampers to these families to help them to celebrate this wonderful time of year as a way of showing God’s love. You’ll hear details from your child’s year group about how to support this initiative. Thankyou in advance for your kindness to those in need!

With best wishes, Clare
