Dear Parents / Carers,

As we approach the end of the Easter holiday, I thought I’d get in touch. I do hope that you and your families have stayed well since school closed.

It’s been strange to be in school over the break, supporting our key worker families with a holiday-club style of school. It’s been fun, although it’s only accentuated how much we miss the buzz of a full school. With only around ten children in each day, it’s been very quiet! We’ve been using the ideas posted online each day to look at the Easter story in the first week and then reflect on our school values over the last four days. I hope that you found the ideas on the website helpful to keep going with some sense of routine at home too. Please don’t worry though – you may have had a complete break from home-school!

Next week we’ll get back to providing daily ideas for remote learning tasks. Each year group will be making a start on their summer term topics, with daily maths and English activities too. And they’ll also be in touch about when they will be available for a chat with the children on Zoom. We’ll be sharing the login details and password by Parentmail and ask that you supervise your children when they’re online please. Do encourage the children to get back into the routine of the school term. We’ve got some exciting activities planned. And do let us know how the children get on; their teachers love seeing photos and being sent work…it keeps all of us motivated if we know that the children are still learning! Remember to use the year group emails rather than individual teachers:

I do understand that for many of our families coping with extra pressures at this time, home-schooling is not easy. Please relax and prioritise keeping your child safe, loved and happy! Reading books together is also a wonderful way to make learning happen without any effort at all. You might also want to make use of other resources that are available (Joe Wicks PE at 9am each has been very popular for many. Also the BBC are beginning their home-school programmes on Monday). Please feel free to do whatever works with your schedule and commitments.

I’ll write again at the end of next week – until then, say hello to the children from me!

With love and prayers,
